The Writing Center is a great way for you to get additional feedback on your next writing assignment before you turn it in for credit. IUP students will work with you one-on-one one at any point in your writing assignment. That means you can get assistance whether you are looking for a topic, writing your first draft, revising, or citing those sources!
The Writing Center is located in Eicher Hall, Room 218. All you have to do is walk in! The Writing Center opened another site this year at the Library. The Library Satellite is open during the evening from Sunday to Thursday.
The Writing Center is equipped with Windows computers, and each has Microsoft Word and the full Microsoft Office Suite. At only four cents per page, you can print out any papers you need for your assignment. They even have a selection of reference books, including dictionaries, grammar books, thesaurus, and the most recent versions of the MLA Handbook and APA Handbook.
Sometimes, your professors will give you credit for visiting the Writing Center. Other times, it is required. Simply tell the tutor the name of your professor. They will send a form stating when you visited and what you worked on. Your professor will know you made an effort to improve your writing, and you leave knowing you are a step closer to a finished paper!
